They didn’t cower away from the strange new magickal creatures, the battle training, or their magick - they embraced everything Asgard had to offer with a drive and dedication to be the best Favoured in history. For them, this was a way to escape their life back in Russia. They were determined to find a way to never go back to Midgard. Their efforts soon paid off as they helped to defeat several attacks on the Golden Realm and banish an enchanted wyrm that threatened to destroy the Dwarves’ palace. Amanda’s arrival on Asgard does not sit well will them as they are uncertain of what her favouring will mean to their future, and her first encounter with the twins does not end with them becoming friends. She herself is the Goddess of Magick, and a traitor just like her husband. She helped to bring about Ragnarok. It was Sigyn who aided Loki and Surtur in creating the spell that was used to send fell flames of magick throughout the Nine Realms until all life was almost extinguished. After the Spell of Favouring was enacted, stopping Ragnarok and bringing about the Great Rebirth, Sigyn was locked in a tower and hidden away by Lord Odin so that she would never again be able to harm anyone or threaten Asgard. For a thousand years, the goddess has been by herself, alone, and the people of Asgard have felt safe knowing they will never have to fear her machinations again. That was until Amanda was claimed, and became the first Favoured to have her benefactor be the traitorous goddess. Mykola was on Asgard for only a few seconds before he was taken to meet Forseti, so not much is known about where he came from other than he grew up in the Czech Republic. When he came back to the Stave to the other Favoured, the Favoured were told that he had made a promise to never speak a single word again. No one knows why Mykola made the promise. It had been a bit trying at first to figure out what he wanted, but he and Cassie Prichett soon became best friends when they discovered she could help translate his emotions into words. Mykola’s favouring also makes him unique as his touch can disrupt anything magickal or anything with magick, rendering them powerless. Sometimes the effects of his touch last a week or even up to a month, so he must wear enchanted gloves to keep his magick in check. Beyond those two unusual traits, Mykola is a calm influence on the other Favoured and a quiet presence on Asgard. He prefers to sit and observe, rather than rush into a hasty attack. Another part of his favouring is to always know when others are lying, which is perhaps why he prefers not to hang around Lena and Lev when they are describing their great accomplishments. Using the Einherjarium where the Einherjar warriors, the Aesir battle defenders of Asgard, train, Lady Freyja conjures every possible landscape to ensure the Favoured are prepared to battle trolls, Jotuns, and even dragons from Hel. Lady Freyja is one of the defenders to come and rescue Amanda on the night of her claiming, but she doesn’t trust Amanda. Amanda’s presence has seemingly awakened the Frost Jotuns, and while Lady Freyja would welcome the battles to come, Asgard must come first. Her Favoured is Cassie Pritchett, who is a constant disappointment to the goddess as her Favoured must rely on the emotional side of her magick in order to defeat even the smallest of Vanaheim fleas. It is quite embarrassing for someone of her reputation and proweress. That is a problem she plans to rectify, even if she has to work the girl harder than any of the other Favoured.
